Live for more - church.
As followers of Christ, you and I are so privileged to be a part of the church. To be a part of the church is to be a part of something bigger, something divine, something worth giving our life to. Check this out:
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God...Eph 4:11-13
As the church we have the unique opportunity and privilege to equip saints for the work of ministry for the building up the body of Christ (the church). As the church we are joined together, unified with other believers by our faith in the Son of God, Jesus. As the church we seek to be made and to make disciples of the one and only Savior of the world Jesus Christ. As the church we are ambassadors of the life changing message of divine forgiveness, redemption, and reconciliation with God the Father through faith in Jesus. How amazing is that!? Our life is part of a bigger purpose than what we see with our human eyes. Author and pastor Paul Tripp says this to Christians:
"Your life is much bigger than a good job, an understanding spouse, and non-delinquent kids. It is bigger than beautiful gardens, nice vacations, and fashionable clothes. In reality, you are part of something immense, something that began before you were born and will continue after you die. God is rescuing fallen humanity transporting them to his kingdom, and progressively shaping them into his likeness---and he wants you to be a part of it."
Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to be a part of the church. May we make the most of it. Teach us Father, to live for more!
