Elder Recommended Books...
Passing along some books that one of our elders, Brent Wilkens, recommended to our Community Group yesterday morning.
For Parent's:
Shepherding a Child's Heart, by Tedd Trip
For Everyone:
The Treasure Principle, by Randy Alcorn
The God Pocket, by Bruce Wilkinson
For Men:
The Resolution, By Alex Kendrick
I can personally recommend Shepherding a Child's Heart, as it has been a 'go to' parenting book for years at the Layman house and The Treasure Principle as well, both great books. While I haven't read the others YET, I'll be putting the others on my 'to read' list as well.
....And I can't recommend books without making a plug for Lving the Cross Centered Life: Keepiing the Gospel the Main Thing, by C.J. Mahaney This one was/is a game changer for me, read it, embrace it, live it.
OH! and one more! THE BIBLE, by GOD It's important to keep reading THE BOOK. The Bible is what makes these other books worth something, because their purpose is to encourage us to live the BIBLE. If you are not reading your Bible daily, please do! Here's a link to some Bible reading plans.
