Consider this.
He was cold.
He was hungry.
He suffered from blisters.
He knew the pain of having his friends betray him.
He knew real anger when he saw his Father's house being desecrated.
He was tempted....really tempted by the craftiest of all demons....Satan himself.
He was man.
I challenge you to step outside tonight and look up at the sky. We should have a clear night. Look at the stars and imagine the heavens beyond. (As an aside, Jupiter will be to the upper right of the moon and the Pleides star cluster will be to the lower left of the moon.) Our Savior, Jesus Christ, came from heaven and became man. He left the awesome, indescribable slendor of heaven and suffered as we suffer....and much more. This next Sunday in Faithweaver we will focus on the concept that Jesus is God. It is mind boggling to think of our God coming to this earth and walking with us....and experiencing our pain. As we continue through this Christmas season, think about that. Jesus is God and Jesus was man, just like us. We will compare how our vision of Jesus is different from other world religions, and how we can teach our kids about the deity of Him.
I am looking forward to it. For the remainder of this week work on "creating in you a pure heart O God." Look for possible stumbling blocks in your week and ask God to help you avoid those temptations. See you on Sunday.
